Multi-instrumentalist Tom Boylan, performing as Holus Bolus, is bringing his one-man psychedelic acoustic rock show to The Lyons Den in Seaside. Armed with an acoustic guitar, a compact drum kit and an array of foot pedals, Holus Bolus builds songs live, recording and layering instrumental parts until a single performer becomes a swirling, full-band experience. His sound blends rhythmic strumming, rock energy, reggae grooves and spacey textures – creating music that feels both earthy and otherworldly. Watching each song take shape is part of the fun as one rhythm becomes a groove, another layer adds color, and suddenly the whole room is moving.
His 2024 studio album, Elephant Road, features ten tracks, including “Never Too Soon,” “Survive” and “From the Edge of the Stars.” His catalog also includes Possible Lives and Live from the Western Edge, which captures extended performances from venues across Oregon and Northern California. With years of touring throughout the West and Southwest, Holus Bolus turns a solo performance into an expansive musical adventure. Come watch the layers unfold as you lose yourself in the psychedelic grooves!
