Portland, OR indie songwriter, Rich Swanger, is performing an intimate set of Roots/Folk/Blues music at The Lyons Den in Seaside. Raised in the Appalachian hills of Pennsylvania, Rich grew up singing in church choirs and absorbing country classics played by his father which continue to shape his deeply personal songwriting.
A prolific storyteller and seasoned performer, Rich has released four full-length albums, had his music featured on the television series Shameless, and won the Portland Folk Festival songwriting contest for his song “Didn’t Make a Sound”. His songs showcase both guitar virtuosity and a resonant vocal style – exploring themes of nostalgia, fate, faith and the mysteries of everyday life. For fans of Bob Dylan, The Band, Tom Petty and Josh Ritter, Rich delivers thoughtful Americana music with a distinct Oregon sensibility.
